Gas Prices Expected To Rise Ahead Of Victoria Day Weekend

It looks like the price of gas will be going up ahead of the long weekend.

The price of regular self-serve is expected to go up about two and a half cents a litre when the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board makes their weekly adjustment at midnight.

That according to Dan McTeague, senior petroleum analyst with Gasbuddy.com.

McTeague says that will put prices over the $1.31 a litre mark for the first time in a while.

“Those are prices we haven’t seen in quite some time, you’d have to go back to 2014. But that’s the lay of the land for the foreseeable future. There are some pushing $85 and $90 for a barrel of oil right now.”

He says prices should be stable for the next few weeks, but to expect high gas prices to remain for the summer months.

This week, the price of diesel should be up again this week by over a penny.
