Gas Regulator To Invoke Interruptor Clause

A significant drop in the price of gas is expected at midnight.

The Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board will use its interruptor clause to adjust the price.

It’s a mechanism used to reflect large swings in market prices typically resulting in at least a six cent increase or decrease.

Industry analysts suggest the price could go down between six and eight cents.

It comes after weeks of steady increases including a 1.1 cent bump in the price for regular gas on Friday morning.

The latest increase left the price ranging between $1.31 and $1.34 depending on which region of the province you live in.

The price of diesel will not change.
