Habitat For Humanity Construction Delayed

The chair of Habitat for Humanity South Shore says their hopes have been dashed.

Hank Middleton says they planned to have their new home on Glen Allan Drive in Bridgewater built this fall.

He says a legal issue with a piece of land near the property has brought all work to a halt.

“I wouldn’t say hope lost–hope delayed,” he says. “We’re in the process of selecting a family. So that’s where we are, we’re stalled, not stopped.”

Middleton says the best case scenario will see the foundation in place before winter.

He says they’ll likely start full construction next spring.
