Halifax: Pilot Project Bringing Groceries To Communities

It’s an initiative to help bring fresh food to communities in Nova Scotia.

The municipal government in Halifax will lend a bus to create a mobile grocery store.

It will visit six communities that have no or limited access to super markets.

The Ecology Action Centre’s, Aimee Carson, says there is a benefit to the idea.

‘We know accessibility is an issue across the province and many families are struggling to access affordable food.”

The pilot program will last 21 weeks.

It should be up and running by October.
