An investigation on board the Queen Mary II is underway in Halifax.
A 26 year-old man from Chile is missing and presumed dead.
It’s believed the man went overboard Saturday night.
At the time, the ocean liner was off the coast of Newfoundland.
Police in Halifax will oversee the investigation because the city was the ships next scheduled port of call.
Rescue efforts were scaled back Saturday evening.
The ship was travelling from Southampton to New York.
