Halifax’s Ryan Bowness named Islanders assistant GM

A Haligonian is joining the front office of the New York Islanders.

Ryan Bowness has been named assistant general manager and director of player personnel.

Bowness previously held an assistant GM role with the Ottawa Senators, he also won a Stanley Cup as a scout with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2017.

The 41-year-old is the son of long-time NHL coach Rick Bowness
