Happy Halloween! Think safety first

Ghosts and goblins will be welcome in most neighbourhoods tonight.

It’s October 31, Halloween!

Kids have picked their favourite costumes, dressed up, and are getting ready to go door to door for a trick-or-treat.

There are some safety tips for the kids and their parents to keep in mind.

Trick-or-treaters should carry a flashlight or wear reflective clothing, stick to one side of the street, and when you bring home your big bag of candy, always inspect the treats before you eat them.

Finally, teach your kids about stranger danger. Never go into a person’s home, garage or vehicle.

Parents are also encouraged to take the kids out to collect their candy between 4 pm and 8 pm.
