Enrollment for online courses is way up since the pandemic hit, and I can’t tell you how many friends and acquaintances have told me they are actively looking at making a career change.
And they all have many different reasons for the change. Either they don’t see a big future in their current profession (perhaps restaurants and bars) or they are tired of working with the public under the current conditions. (health services)
Many have had a life-altering change of attitude about work – they feel life is too short and they should be doing something they love. Others want to make a difference in the world with their chosen profession.
Others are looking for good benefits and better pay and working conditions.
I made a radical career change twenty some years ago – I left radio and became a computer consultant and online teacher. It was lucrative but it wasn’t fun. After a couple of years I came back to radio and I’ve never looked back.
Are you taking steps to make a career change because of Covid?
