Have you downloaded the Health Canada Covid Alert app yet? It’s now up and working here in Nova Scotia.
So what’s this App all about?
It’s designed to tell you if anyone has contacted Covid-19 near you. It uses Bluetooth signals and exchanges random codes with nearby phones that are changed every five minutes. This will tell you if you have come into close contact in the last 14 days with someone who tested positive. The catch is, it’s only if that person has also downloaded the app. That’s why….the more people that download the app…the better.
The app was originally only active in Ontario, but is now available in most provinces.
No need to worry about privacy issues…They saythe app has no way of knowing your location, name or address.
