Heat warnings are in place for a large part of Nova Scotia as the province heads into several days of hot and humid weather.
Meteorologist Ian Hubbard says the heat is expected to last through Saturday, with relief not likely until Sunday.
“We’ll be following these over the next couple of days,” Hubbard said. “Expecting some really hot temperatures to creep up over the region.”

Hubbard says highs are expected to reach 29 to 32 degrees today, with similar conditions tomorrow.
Some areas could reach 33 degrees on Friday.
Saturday is still expected to be warm, with highs between 28 and 31 degrees in affected areas.
The humidity will make it feel hotter.
Hubbard says humidex values are expected to stay in the high 30s for much of the province.
He says some areas could feel close to 40 on Friday.
“Even though the temperatures are going to be quite warm themselves, it’s going to feel even warmer with the humidity,” Hubbard said.
Hubbard says the humidex combines temperature and humidity to show how hot it feels to the average person.
“So even though we might have a forecast of 28 degrees, it might actually feel like 36 degrees because of the humidex,” he said.
Hubbard says some parts of Nova Scotia saw thundershowers earlier today, which added moisture and helped increase humidity.
He says the heat warning is the main weather concern for Nova Scotia over the next few days.
People are being reminded to drink water, take breaks from the heat, avoid strenuous outdoor activity when possible and check on older adults, young children and others who may be more vulnerable.
