Two local groups are trying to help kids play hockey.
The year-round sport can be costly for low income families.
That’s why PRO Kids and The United Way of Lunenburg County are teaming up to help.
PRO Kids can assist with covering some of the financial costs while The United Way is giving away used hockey equipment.
Coordinator Michael Graves says they hope to help as many people as they can.
“There is going to be certain sizes that won’t be there, there will be certain pieces that won’t be there. But, what we do have is good quality and what we do have will help people.”
An equipment fitting will be held Thursday night at the LCLC from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
