Residents and workers at Hillside Pines Home for Special Care will be warmer this winter thanks to a funding announcement made today.
Minister Mark Furey was at the home to share the news that the provincial government will provide over a million dollars in upgrades.
Administrator, Marisa Eisner says the announcement for an energy retrofit will enhance the lives of people who call Hillside home.
“It’s a wonderful step forward for the comfort and quality of life for the elders that live here and for the staff that work here. Heating in the winter and cooling in the summer is really going to improve the atmosphere,” says Eisner.
The first step will be to insulate the attic for the winter.
Funding for the project will be spread over 10 years but Eisner says they hope to have everything complete by mid-winter.
