Mason Beck scored the shootout winner as the O’Regan’s Subaru Western Hurricanes opened their regular season with a 3-2 win over the Bedford Barons.
Curtis Lang and Evan O’Toole also scored in the shootout.
Lang scored both goals for the Hurricanes during regulation time while Jeremy Robar turned aside 33 shots for the Hurricanes.
The major bantam hockey team is back on the ice at 11 a.m Sunday at Queens Place Emera Centre in Liverpool to play against the TASA Landworks Gulls.
