In Nova Scotia, Groundhog And Lobster Predict Early Spring

If you believe Shubenacadie Sam in Nova Scotia, we’re in for an early spring.

The first groundhog in North America to make a weather prediction emerged from his den around 8 o’clock this morning…

Under a cloudy sky, he DID NOT see his shadow and according to folklore that means spring will arrive early.

Lucy the Lobster also predicted an early spring when she will crawled out of the Atlantic Ocean at 8am in Barrington.

However, it’s a different story for Ontario’s Wiarton Willie and Pennsylvania’s Punxsutawney Phil who both saw their shadows and that means six more weeks of winter.
