Injuries, 1 airlifted, after choir bus crashes in the valley

There were several injuries, including one who was airlifted to hospital in Halifax, after a bus crash in the valley that was carrying choir members.

In a post on social media, the Canta Mara Youth Choirs of the Annapolis Valley says most of the injuries were minor and everyone is expected to make a full recovery.

“The safety and well-being of our children is our highest priority,” says the post. “We are in close communication with families and are providing support as needed during this time.”

The choir group says they are in contact with authorities and will work with counselors as needed.

They thank emergency responders and staff at Somerset School as well as residents who provided support.

“We appreciate the concern and support from the community and will provide updates, if necessary,” says the post.

Details on when it happened and how remain unclear at this time.
