International Storyteller To Visit South Shore

An international storyteller will be in the South Shore spotlight this summer.

Anne Glover tells her stories with string… Yes, string.

Deputy Chief Librarian, Jeff Mercer, says he’s excited to see Glover’s talent in person.

“Maybe there’s an evil villian with a moustache or you know, wearing a top hat,” he says, “She can do all those things with this string and just weave it into this image so you get a better sense of what she’s talking about.”

She weaves animals, figures, and just about anything together to help engage her audience.

Mercer says aside from the entertainment, it’s important for kids especially.

“Kids can watch her and they listen to her story and get involved. Then they’re like, ‘Well I want to learn more about this or I just want to read more fun stories like this.’ So that keeps their brains active through the summer.”

Though he thinks it will be more guided towards kids, he says there will be something in it for everyone.

Glover is touring the province for the summer but will be in Bridgewater and Liverpool on July 13th, and Lunenburg on the 16th.
