As the lobster season ends in Western Nova Scotia, a celebration begins.
It’s a celebration of our fishing heritage and of our world-famous lobster.
The Shelburne County Lobster Festival gets underway this week.
This is the 31st year.
The Municipality of Barrington’s recreation director, Anna Kenney says activities are spread throughout the area.
“One of the big attractions in the Great Lobsterman Challenge. Competitions include banding lobsters, splicing and coiling rope and baiting traps and a lobster-shelling contest.”
The challenge is Friday, 7 p.m. at the Sandy Wickens Memorial Arena.
There are lots of community lobster meals to enjoy as well !….
