A curious case involving a jar of preserved human remains isn’t criminal, but there’s still no word on what exactly was found inside.
The jar was discovered at a construction site in the Town of Lunenburg near the water treatment plant this past July.
An investigation was conducted by the RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit and they found it to be non-criminal in nature.
The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Service also investigated.
Heather Fairbairn, spokesperson for the Department of Justice, says they found the remains were used ‘for purposes such as teaching.’
But the Medical Examiner’s Service is mum on what was inside the jar.
Fairbairn says the only other information she could give is that the jar is very old.
