A longtime local diner in Bridgewater is set to close its doors this weekend.
Staff at the Esso/Proxi gas station on the corner of Aberdeen Road and North Street confirmed to our newsroom that Jerry’s Diner, located inside the station, will close Sunday for an indefinite amount of time.
While staff were not able to provide specific details surrounding the closure, they said the gas station is preparing for a major overhaul this summer that will make the diner space unusable.
Over the years, Jerry’s built a loyal following in the community, particularly for its quick, affordable breakfasts and diner-style atmosphere.
The restaurant’s closure is expected to disappoint many regular customers who made the diner a frequent stop for morning coffee and breakfast.
No information has been released on whether the diner could reopen following the renovations in the newly renovated space or if it could reopen elsewhere.
