Key Tags In The Mail

The War Amps of Canada is into its second century of service.

You can look for your 2019 key tags which are in the mail to households in Nova Scotia this week.

Spokesperson Jamie Lunn tells us the public’s support of the Key Tag Service make a difference in the lives of amputees by providing financial assistance for artificial limbs and peer support.

“We’re able to fund all of our programs for amputees across Canada and as an amputee myself I know how important that is.”

Those programs include providing financial assistance for artificial limbs, peer support and information on all aspects of living with amputation.

The Key Tag Service was launched after the Second World War so that returning war amputee veterans could not only work for competitive wages, but also provide a service to Canadians that would generate funds for the Association.
