Golfers will be spoiling a good walk for a good cause.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the South Shore will be holding their 16th annual Golf for Kids Sake Thursday, July 20 at Osprey Ridge Golf Course.
Executive Director Vanessa Mossop says they’re hoping to raise $16,000.
“Well this is one of our main fundraisers and our staple fundraiser for the year. All the funds raised from it stays in our community and goes and helps the kids in our programs.”
The organization nearly had to shut its doors earlier in the year.
But according to Mossop, a fundraising push has them just $1,400 shy of their $30,000 goal.
“That was a one time ask and that’s why we have to be very cautious of how we use that money. So that we know that we can keep the doors open, the bills are going to be paid, our kids are going to be taken care of who are in our programs and that the matches can still continue and that we won’t have to ask for that money again.”
Spots are still available for Golf for Kids Sake.
