The Liverpool Fire Department has been crowned “King Penny 2012” in the Pennies For Protection competition. The department came up with 627 pounds of collected pennies worth $1254.00 during the weekend weigh-in. They bested 12 other fire departments. A total of $8400.00 was raised province-wide. The money will help support volunteer departments.
