A long-time politician in Lunenburg county will be recognized for his contribution.
Don Downe served as MLA for Lunenburg West from 1993-2003.
He has been mayor of the Municipality of Lunenburg since 2004.
Rotary Club of Bridgewater and District President David Mullins says Downe will receive the ‘Paul Harris Fellow.’
“We try to recognize each year somebody in our local community who has put forward an extraordinary contribution or ongoing contribution to our community.”
Downe will be recognized with a certificate, lapel pin and medallion during a ceremony May 25 in Bridgewater.
