The region’s Member of Parliament is raising awareness about federal investment in the area.
South Shore-St.Margaret’s MP Bernadette Jordan is releasing videos everyday as part of Infrastructure Week to highlight government spending across her riding.
“Because we’ve invested so much money in infrastructure. Everything from twinning highways to water/wastewater to upgrading things like the Lunenburg Academy and social infrastructure like housing. So those are all things that we are focusing on and making sure people know.”
Jordan began with a video about how federal money was used for wastewater projects in Lunenburg.
“I think it was really important for people to know that we are committed to places like Lunenburg, who are having some challenges right now with their harbour. And that we will do whatever we can to help mitigate all the problems that they’re having.”
She says history shows the solution to the town’s harbour woes lies in all three levels of government working together.
