The Town of Lockeport is getting close to $12,000 from the federal government.
In preparation for Canada’s 150th birthday, Mayor Darian Huskilson says the money will go to fixing up the athletic field, play park, recreation centre, Roods Head Park and the tennis courts.
He says the money is a welcome relief.
“The money and access to the funds has allowed us to not only maintain some of this infrastructure, but it allows us to upgrade it and make sure that it will be serviceable for years and year to come,” said Huskilson.
Huskilson adds the Town’s funds continue to be stretched and says the facelift is bound to spark enconomic spin-offs for local businesses.
