Low Pressure System Bringing Wet Weather to South Shore, Tri-Counties

Wet weather is on its way for our region.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for possible significant rain Friday into Saturday.

Meterologist Stephen Hatt says a low pressure system is approaching our province from the Great Lakes.

“There is a high probability of getting over 25 millimetres of rain in a 24-hour period,” says Hatt.

“And there’s a chance it could be 30.”

Hatt expects rain will begin late in the afternoon Friday, mixed with strong winds and mild temperatures.

He says there is a risk of flooding in areas prone to run-off or ground that can’t absorb water.
