Lumberjacks from across the province will be in Barrington in about three months.
The Nova Scotia Lumberjack Competition will be held in the Shelburne County community this June.
Burlin Nickerson, a lumberjack competitor and Pubnico native, says the immediate economic benefits are significant.
“All the hotels, restaurants, service stations, all the money spent by the competitors, we’re expecting 60 competitors. 200 outside people including film crews. The exposure for the area is also great”
The North Nova Lumberjack Society, who are planning the event, estimate the immediate economic benefits to the Barrington area to be nearly $80,000.
The hugely popular event takes place June 16th and 17th.
