Last weekend was a busy one for Lunenburg District RCMP.
In less than 24 hours police caught two people driving impaired.
The first, a 39-year-old Halifax man came through a checkpoint in Western Shore at around 1 AM October 20.
He showed signs of being impaired and was issued a seven day driving suspension due to his blood alcohol level.
The second case saw a 29-year-old man drive into a river in Mahone Bay.
The driver and the passenger were leaving a function at around 10:30 p.m. when the driver from Lower Burlington had the accident.
He was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries and then arrested for impaired driving.
The driver is facing charges of impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mgs.
