It will be a somber Sunday in Lunenburg.
The town will hold its Fishermen’s Memorial Service at 2 p.m on the waterfront near the Fishermen’s Museum.
Coordinator of special events, Robin Scott, says the ceremony is an annual event in honour of those who lost their lives at sea.
“A significant part of the service is the roll of honour, when fishermen lost at sea in the years ending in five dating back to 1925, are read out.”
Wreaths will also be placed out at sea.
Music will be provided by the Bridgewater Fire Department band and choirs from local churches.
The Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia will be among the dignitaries in attendance.
