Lunenburg has applied to keep the same number of councillors and polling districts.
A hearing was held last week with the province’s Utility and Review Board.
There are currently six councillors and a mayor and one polling district.
The UARB hasn’t formally approved the request but the mayor is confident it will.
Towns and municipalities are required to review their council size and polling districts every eight years.
