Lunenburg buying new sidewalk machine

The Town of Lunenburg is buying a new machine to help maintain sidewalks.

Council has approved the purchase of a new Trackless sidewalk maintenance machine and attachments from Saunders Equipment.

The total cost is $187,302.

The town says the machine is used by public works crews for sidewalk snow clearing and salting during the winter.

It is also used for street sweeping throughout the year.

The new unit will be added alongside the town’s existing machine.

The town says that will improve reliability and provide backup equipment when maintenance or repairs are needed.

The purchase was included in Lunenburg’s approved 2026-27 capital budget.

The town says the final cost came in under the amount that had been budgeted.
