It was a beautiful sunny day for the Town’s official recognition of its 265th Birthday today! Heritage Awards… birthday cake… community walk… public art… oh my! pic.twitter.com/XAWMaweOw5— Town of Lunenburg, NS (@TownLunenburgNS) June 7, 2018
Ashlee Feener, Co-owner of Lunenburg Walking Tours says Lunenburg’s history is unique in Nova Scotia.
“We owe a lot to the resilience of our founding families. And celebrate the fact that this is the first non-French, non-English settlement in Nova Scotia.”
Feener says the town has so much to offer.
“The joy of providing walking tours is seeing visitors appreciate everything that is here. Witnessing the town through their eyes. So everyday I get an understanding that this is a pretty special place.”
Feener says the changes that have taken place in the town over the years are worth celebrating.
But it’s the people, both established and newcomers, that make Lunenburg a special place.
