The Bank of Montreal has recognized a Lunenburg county woman for her efforts.
Elspeth Mclean-Wile received a BMO Women of Excellence Award for Community and Charitable Giving.
McLean-Wile is involved in a number of local groups including Now Lunenburg County.
“It really represents the efforts of a lot of people in this community that have stepped up and said ‘we need to be working on our future and figuring out how we can ensure that the future of Lunenburg County continues to be a prosperous one.’ “
Mclean-Wile says it’s nice to be recognized but she does it for the community, not to receive awards.
A ceremony was held Tuesday at Pier 21 in Halifax.
