The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg is on the lookout for more volunteer firefighters.
At last weeks council meeting a strategy was drafted to attract and retain more volunteers.
Mayor Carolyn Bolivar-Getson says there’s more than one way to get invovled.
“Fire departments still need other people to help maintain the fire service. It could be anything from someone with a financial background wanting to assist with book keeping. There’s different avenues to assist the fire service,” says Bolivar-Getson
Public consultation will get underway later this month and continue into the winter months.
A plan should be set in stone by the end of 2018.
