Lunenburg RCMP Get New District Commander

Big Changes for Lunenburg District RCMP.

Staff Sergeant Stephen MacQueen officially took over as District Commander today.

He says he has big shoes to fill but he’s excited to take on the challenge.

“As crime evolves we’ve had to evolve, and It’s not about having a policeman on every street corner, it’s more about having the policemen on the right street corner at the right time.”

MacQueen says lowering the crime rate is more about proactive work then making arrests after the fact.

He says his goal is to help make Lunenburg County a safe place for both the people who live here and the police who serve them.
