Mahone Bay Approves Development Agreement for 659 Main Street

The site of 659 Main Street in Mahone Bay could soon have some new structures added to it.

Town council approved a development agreement by a 5-2 vote for Mahone Bay Resorts Ltd.

The company is looking to continue their boatbuilding work on the land.

Mayor David Devenne says he likes the concept.

“I think it is going to continue to provide some variation in how our town is structured. I think tourists, frankly, have quite an interest in observing what goes on at the property.”

Devenne says the move also gives the town a bit more breath in their industrial tax base.

The decision can be appealed to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board within the next two weeks.
