A former school board member and town councillor in Mahone Bay has passed away.
Donald Croft died on Thursday at the age of 87.
Croft was known as a lover of the outdoors – who enjoyed fishing and hunting.
But he may be best remembered for founding Mahone Auto Service with his business partner Jack Freeman in 1958.
He retired in 1985, passing on the business to his sons David and John.
The business closed after 67 years last August.
A funeral service for Croft will be held 11 a.m. Saturday morning at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mahone Bay.
