Man Arrested After Carrying Gun In Public

A man has been arrested after he was reportedly walking near North York Street and the Centennial Trail with a gun. Bridgewater Police took the man into custody without incident shortly after 11:30 this morning in the vacinity of King Street and Logan Road. Chief John Collyer says they seized two pellet guns that look similar to real firearms. He says police responded quickly, especially following the incidents in Moncton. “A gun call anytime raises tension with the police obviously, but given what has gone on in Moncton, people’s fears would be quite high.” A couple local businesses were put on lockdown while the incident was happening. No charges have been laid yet but police are questioning the man.
