A Lunenburg County man faces a number of charges after an alleged assault late last week. RCMP say 45-year-old Andrew Melvin George was arrested April 19 in First South. A 36-year-old woman was transported to Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. She was treated for her injuries and later released. George is facing charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and two counts of mischief. He was remanded into custody and will appear in Bridgewater court Monday morning.
