E-Cigarettes are promoted by the industry as helping smokers quit their habit.
Seems that might not always be the case though.
A new Canadian survey of 2,000 smokers shows those using the electronic devices still puff away on at least a dozen tobacco cigarettes every day!
Smoking cessation expert Dr. Lew Pliamm says the only way to cut the smoking habit is to quit cold turkey and deal with it.
“Luckily we have some of these treatments out there that can help them with the withdrawal and the cravings. Usually by people taking the medication, they can do very well with a comprehensive approach.”
Dr. Pliamm advises smokers seeking to quit by using e-cigarettes but who are still smoking should give up both and enroll in a program.
He says doctors are more than willing to guide them in the right direction.
