The Yarmouth Mariners are the MHL Eastlink South Division Champions for the second straight year.
The Mariners beat the South Shore Lumberjacks 7-1 last night to win the series in six games.
Logan O’Neil scored the lone goal for the Lumberjacks.
Head Coach and General Manager, Kyle McAllister, says it’s a disappointing way to end the season.
“Give them credit they’re a good hockey team and we gave them their opportunities and they cashed in on us,” says McAllister.
“We were a tired hockey team playing with a pretty short bench up front. I’m proud of the guys. They battled really hard for the last two-and-a-half months and overall it was a great season for them.”
McAllister says the hockey club is appreciative of the fan support they received all season including the playoffs.
Yarmouth advances to the Canadian Tire Cup Final and await the winner of the Eastlink North Division Final between Campbellton and Summerside.
