The Liberal MLA for Lunenburg-West says he’s already in campaign mode.
Mark Furey says he’s been knocking on doors and reaching out to constituents since he was elected three years ago.
“I have done what the constituents expect me to do in providing access to their elected official and expectation and a response to the issues that they have brought forward.”
He says that has included attending community events regularly.
Furey says he doesn’t know when the next election will be called.
Premier Stephen McNeil has until next fall to send Nova Scotians back to the ballot box.
Meanwhile, two of the four other registered political parties in Nova Scotia have chosen their candidates in Lunenburg West.
The latest is the Progressive Conservatives, who announced Carole Hipwell as their acclaimed candidate.
Hipwell has 19 years of teaching experience and has lived on a hobby farm in Conquerall Mills since 1998.
She has also owned and operated a small business.
Hipwell says people are frustrated with subpar services and the ever-growing cost of living under the current government.
Lisa Norman was nominated in Lunenburg West by the NDP.
There are no candidates announced yet for the Green Party or Atlantica Party.
