It wasn’t the result Jenna Martin-Evans was hoping to achieve.
The 28 year-old from Bridgewater placed fourth in the women’s 400 metre international event at the Aileen Meagher Track Classic in Halifax.
Martin-Evans finished in a time of 54.09 seconds, 1.25 seconds behind the winner, Kenya Woodall of the U.S.
The 2012 Olympian will have one more opportunity to reach the standard time and qualify for this summer’s games in Rio.
She will need to run better than 52.20 seconds at the national championships in Edmonton next month.
