Matthew White Wins Nova Scotia Marathon In Barrington

Darmouth’s Matthew White won the 2018 Nova Scotia Marathon yesterday.

He ran the course through Barrington Passage and Cape Sable Island with a time of around three hours and 11 minutes.

White talks about the run through humid conditions.

“I tried to go out very easy. I knew with the heat and humidity it was going to be a tough day. I ran much slower than I would normally. I took advantage of the water stops as well.”

Stan Chen of Wolfville was second and Yarmouth’s Marco Albright came in third place.

A half-marathon and 10k were also part of yesterday’s event, and a 5k was held on Saturday.

Runners from our region, across Nova Scotia, the Maritimes and even Canada and the United States took part.
