A bench will be placed in the Port Medway Lighthouse Park in memory of Jalynn Bennett.
She was among a group of people who helped set up the ‘This Lighthouse Matters’ funding campaign.
The Nova Scotia Lighthouse Preservation Society made the request to the Region of Queens.
Mayor Christopher Clarke says it’s a nice gesture.
“She worked very hard. It recognizes the amount of work that she did and as supportive as she was in preserving lighthouses and getting funding to preserve lighthouses.”
The campaign helped raise $250,000 towards lighthouse preservation in the province.
Bennett died in February and never got to see the end results.
