Mitton Sets New PB, Finishes Fourth At Panamerican Junior Games

A Brooklyn athlete is happy with the way she competed at the Panamerican Junior Games in Edmonton.

Sarah Mitton was seeded eighth heading into the competition.

However, she finished fourth and was the top Canadian in the women’s shot put.

Mitton also threw a new personal best of 14.57 metres in her first international competition.

She says she enjoyed representing her country.

“You want to throw and you want to compete to your best ability because you know you have the support of everyone and you just want to make your country proud.”

Mitton will take a month off before returning to the University of Windsor to resume training and competition.
