Councillors in the Municipality of Lunenburg have a more thorough understanding of in-camera meetings.
Councillors had a chance to ask questions to the municipal solicitor and Mark Peck with the Department of Municipal Affairs.
Among the issues were protocol and the difference between public and confidential conversations.
Peck says there are different times when to go in camera.
“Contract negotiations, labour relations, the acquisition, sale and lease of municipal property and the one that probably gets the most topic is personnel issues.”
CAO Kevin Malloy says council will look into what was discussed to improve their process, making it more accountable and transparent.
