MODL, RQM Prepare to Swear-In New Councils

New and returning politicians are about to take their seats in four different areas.

The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg and Region of Queens will swear-in their new councils on Tuesday.

There will be new mayors in each municipality with Carolyn Bolivar-Getson and David Dagley taking over from Don Downe and Christopher Clarke, respectively.

There will be three new councillors in Queens including Kevin Muise, Heather Kelly, and Gil Johnson.

Reid Whynot and Wade Carver will be sworn-in as new councillors joining eight other incumbents in the process.

The Municipality of Lunenburg will hold a special meeting at 1 p.m. Tuesday while the Region of Queens will introduce their new council at 6 p.m.

Both ceremonies will happen in each municipality’s council chambers.

The Municipality and the Town of Shelburne will also swear-in their new councils this week.
