Municipal Campaign School For Women

The mayor of Yarmouth says she found women’s campaign school inspiring.

A political science major, Pam Mood admits she learned very little about campaigning at university.

However, the daylong event was able to teach her everything from how to ask for money to social networking.

“When you walk in you’re thinking one thing but when you walk out, you just feel like, you know what, I really can do this.”

Women interested in running in the 2016 municipal elections are invited to attend the women’s campaign school on October 17th.

The campaign school is offered at no charge and bursaries are available for women who need child care.

Participants need to register. The deadline has been extended to Oct. 9. Contact Status of Women at women@novascotia.ca or click here to download registration forms.
