Municipality Of Shelburne Appoints New CAO

Following an extensive hiring process, the Municipality of Shelburne has appointed a new Chief Administrative Officer. Trudy Payne will officially take the position on Dec. 2, 2019.

Payne has twenty-nine years of experience working for municipal governments. Most of that time was spent as Director of Recreation Services for the Municipality of the District of Lunenberg. She also served as General Manager of the Lunenberg County Lifestyle Centre.

In a press release, Payne spoke about her recent appointment.

“I am excited to be joining the dedicated team of staff and progressive council at the Municipality of the District of Shelburne. Council has set a number of strategic priorities based on feedback from residents to improve working and living in the Municipality. I am looking forward to working alongside Council, staff, community partners and residents on these priorities.

Prior to this appointment, the position was filled on an interim basis by Ken Smith, who filled in following the departure of the previous CAO Tom MacEwan.
